Tutorial: Embedding Google+ Posts Into Other Sites

Google rolled out two new features for Google+ today. The first one concerns Google Authorship, which I included in my Google+ Authorship tutorial. The second feature follows in the footsteps of Twitter and Facebook, allowing you to embed Google+ posts into other sites. (Early testing shows that it will not work on Facebook. No great surprise there.)

It’s a very simple process; you go to the post (which must be Public) on Google+ that you want to embed, and from the options menu on it, choose Embed Post. The options menu may look a little different depending on whether or not you wrote the post.

The Options Menu on a G+ post is the little arrow in the upper-right corner.

After this, you’ll be shown the code you need to paste into your article.

Copy ‘n paste. Simple as that.

The results should look like this:

If they don’t, you may have to experiment a bit with pasting the first of the two bits of code into different locations, but simple copy and paste should work in most cases.
